Our History
NIX OF AMERICA was formally established in January of 1995 in San Jose, California, as the US representative office of its parent company, NIX INC of Yokohama, Japan.
Founded in April 1953 as a small plastics manufacturing company, NIX INC has grown alongside the Japanese high-tech economy. With its company slogan of “Nothing to Something,” NIX INC’s mission is to respond to the diversified needs of the world.

1953
Nikko Kogyo Co., Ltd. was founded in Shimomaruko Shimomaruko 1-11-5 in Ota Ward, Tokyo with a capital of 2.5 million yen. Operations began with an electrical machinery department and a vinyl department.

Completed an order contract with Hitachi, Ltd. for standard products for controllers, switchboards and vehicles. Delivered outsourcing contractors to the company's Yamate factory.

1956
Began production and sale of laminate products.

1961
Upon request from Hitachi, constructed a Yuki factory in Yuki city, Ibaraki prefecture. Started operations with production of polyethylene pipe, vinyl tube, injection molding and painting finish. Eventually become a comprehensive production base for injection molded products and plastic foams such as styrofoam.

Began selling our first own brand "Nikko Mark Band".

Head office moves to new building in 1-12-7 Yaguchi, Ota-ku, Tokyo.

First welfare facility completed - "Nikko Izu House" at Izu Minami-Hakone Dialland.

Began selling industrial fasteners - "Code Lock (NC - 1, NC - 2)".

1979
Company receives the first "VA Award" from Hitachi.

Company receives the first "VE award" from NEC.

Obtained approval from the foundation burning equipment inspection association for oil stoves employing emergency resin.

Launched in-house newsletter "Ayumu."

1981
First exhibition at the 10th International Belcon Japan. Leads to expansion of sales of magazine rack and industrial fastener products.

Developed "Adjust · I" for transporting printed circuit boards with the first conductive resin. Leads to development of the magazine "NK Sart" for automatic insert.

Developed air damper "soft push catch".

Developed "Super Seal (NW - 12)".

1984
Developed a "light-shielding label for EP-ROM" to prevent adhesive remains in ROM, jointly developed with BRADY, USA.

1985
Developed automatic dispensing machine "BLPA" for labels for bar code management of printed circuit boards.

1987
Established a Tsukui office incorporating IE method in Tsukui-machi, Kanagawa prefecture.

1988
Completed welfare facility "Akebono Sanso."

Began selling original mechanical parts "NS latch".

1992
Sagamihara Works opens as a new production base for electronic products in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Eventually becomes procurement center.

Integrate plastic part design development, electronic design engineering, and intellectual property into R&D center in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

1993
Developed "tip seal" for scroll compressor using original plastic material (NIXAM).

1995
NIX OF AMERICA Established as a Magazine Rack and Nikko Mark Band USA sales office. First exhibition for magazine racks at Nebukon West (USA).

Developed adjustment foot for projector "Adjust foot".

Began selling NIXAM product "Insect repellent ARINIX".

2001
Company changes name to NIX Corporation, and relocates headquarters to MM 21 in Yokohama-shi Nishi-ku.

Headquarters and Tsukui Factory acquires ISO 14001 certification.

Established NIX OF HONG KONG LIMITED

Began distribution of durable zipper

ARINIX nominated to used on vending machines at Exposition of Global Harmony Aichi.
